Those of us working here at NWP can do and say a lot in support of Nevada’s public lands, but it takes many voices to get things done… People who call elected officials. Speak up at public meetings. Write letters to the editor. Talk with their friends and neighbors. Donate time and money. Volunteer in the field. Besides, taking action feels a whole lot better than just stewing about it. And it’s a great way to see beautiful places, learn new things about your community and meet interesting people. Take action…
- FOR GOLD BUTTE - Nevada’s piece of the Grand Canyon puzzle, Gold Butte is a magnificent area in southeastern Nevada near Las Vegas.
- FOR 7 SOLAR STUDY AREAS IN NEVADA - Seven areas in Nevada were selected for "fast-track" study to determine how suitable they are for utility-scale solar development. Public comments were due Sept. 14, 2009. Learn more about our comments.
- FOR THE DESERT NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE - the largest wildlife refuge outside of Alaska, located just north of Las Vegas.
- FOR NO CHILD LEFT INSIDE - the Dept. of Education needs to hear from us regarding reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, encouraging them to include provisions for environmental education.
